Congratulations to 2011's Fall League Write-Up Contest Winners!!!

Team: South Denver Silverbacks
Coach: Bill Tamminga
Boys, 6th Grade

The South Denver Silverbacks

Hunter “The Hammer” Breshears (4’8” G) Playing a year up, Breshears is one of the elite talents in the class of 2019. He makes his mark by attacking the basket and always playing an aggressive brand of basketball. Breshears gets after it on both ends and plays with intensity on the defensive side of things. Breshears averages 4 points and 4 boards a game to go along with 2 assists and 2 steals.

Josh “Bird” Coleman (5’6” G) Has the speed and ability to quickly move the ball up the court in transition and knock down shots from anywhere in the building. A heady ball handler with a knack for getting to the rack and finishing with aplomb. Coleman averages 7 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals per game.

Ryan “Rambo” Davis (5’4” G) A strong, tough guard, Davis is a guy with winning attributes. He was a big part of Silverback’s run throughout the season. Davis is efficient when he attacks the basket (averaging 6 points per game) and uses his strength to muscle up smaller guards. On the defensive end he's a presence, averaging 2 steals per game.

“Great” Dane Gopsill (5’8” F/C) With soft hands and an uncanny ability to finish, Gopsill has the ability to put points up in bunches. Excellent touch around the basket. He emerged as a big name this fall with an 8 point and 6 rebound average. Gopsill is one of the better low post prospects in the 2018 class because of his ability to score and overall presence in the paint.

Luke “Skywalker” Gopsill (5’8” F) A hard playing post prospect, Gopsill is a guy that can get things done in the paint. As a rebounder he zones in on his area and locks it up. Averaging 4 points and 4 rebounds a game; he's a tough big man that doesn't mind mixing it up and finishing through contact around the basket. He continues to develop his high and low-post moves and he finds ways to be effective around the rim.

Caleb “The Ninja” Tamminga (5’9” PF) A slashing big man averaging a double-double, Caleb is a physically strong forward who plays with speed and energy. He’s an intimidating presence in the middle with two blocks per game and many more altered shots. Averaging more than ten points a game, Caleb continues to develop his low post moves and mid-range jumper. He attacks the rim in transition and is an outstanding rebounder.

Blake “Black Mamba” Williams (5’7” G/F) A strong kid who has obviously put some serious time into the weight room, he leads with toughness and knocks down big shots - including a manly buzzer-beating tre for one unforgettable late-season win. Has the ability to dominate the opponent every time he steps on the floor. Solid all-around prospect averaging 7 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals a game.

Sung to Queen’s We Will Rock You

Tyler Dinges is wearing number one
And playing against him isn’t fun
He’ll put a hand in your face,
Make your shot disgrace
He creates jump balls with a fierce embrace

He will, he will lock down
Sayin’ he will, he will lock down

Noah Greenwald is sporting jersey number two
He plays tough D, makes you dribble off your shoe
He’ll cover guys in space,
Move his feet with grace
Putting the offense back into their place

He will, he will lock down
Sayin’ he will, he will lock down

Justin Smith puts on jersey number three
He gives real meaning to the name Lock Down D
He’s always on your case,
Stealing the ball without a trace
Leaves you looking down at your own shoelace

He will, he will lock down
Sayin’ he will, he will lock down

Jersey number five belongs to Joey Bush
He’ll box out; you can’t even move him with a push
He’s a rebounding ace,
Loose balls he will chase
Good luck trying to keep up with his pace

He will, he will lock down
Sayin’ he will, he will lock down

Dressing in jersey number eleven is Jack Wells
When he’s in the game, Lock Down D really gels
The court is his place,
He’ll rest his case
Like an attorney doing their thing in the workplace

He will, he will lock down
Sayin’ he will, he will lock down

Brode Aho is the one wearing jersey fifteen
Playing in pros some day is where he wants to be seen
He moves with grace,
His steps you can’t trace
A player like him is one you can’t replace

He will, he will lock down
Sayin’ he will, he will lock down

In jersey nineteen you’ve got Keaton Crockett
He blasts through passing lanes like a NASA rocket
At a fast pace,
He travels through space
Go up against him and you will lose that race

He will, he will lock down
Sayin’ he will, he will lock down

Next up is Scott Day in jersey number twenty-five
He’s plays with tenacity; always keeping rebounds alive
He gives you a red face
Like you’ve been sprayed by mace
He seems to be everywhere and everyplace

He will, he will lock down
Sayin’ he will, he will lock down

Michael Gohr puts on jersey twenty-six
He wants to steal the ball and he’ll always get his fix
And here’s the case
From your memory don’t erase
You can’t break him down on defense like a glass vase

He will, he will lock down
Sayin’ he will, he will lock down

Chris Franquemont is the one with jersey thirty-four
Better stay out of the lane because he’ll slam that door
The paint is his place
He’ll swat the ball in your face
You don’t want to try to fly in his airspace

He will, he will lock down
Sayin’ he will, he will lock down

Lock Down D… Lock Down D…Lock Down D!
