Run Your Race
The following notes are shared from Coach Rod Olson.
We have all seen the movie “Secretariat” or some even grew up in the 1970’s time frame witnessing first hand, the Triple Crown winner running to greatness. The Disney feature grabbed your heart while implementing a central theme focused upon throughout the film - “Run Your Race".
Please remember, that the key to capturing the hearts of today's athlete, student, or business associate, and to motivating them as individuals within a team, is to encourage them to “run their race”. Yes, we all have certain 'non-negotiables' that every employee, team member and child must adhere to, but we must never forget that the key to maximizing someone's potential (especially in a team setting) is to help them discover their own greatness and help them learn to run their race.
The hope and challenge for you this week as a leader both at work and at home, is that you will NOT treat all your people the same. That you will find what greatness or gifting has been put inside of them and then assist them learning to Run Their Race!
