What is JAM

Please read through our Terms of Service to best understand the J.A.M. organization.

MISSION STATEMENT

Junior Athletics of the Midwest (J.A.M.) has been formed to help young people develop the values and judgement to become better adults through participation in athletics. The company recognizes that sports help teach the values of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Once learned, these lessons carry over into any endeavor, be it school, profession, or any life experience.

JAM will strive to nurture these values by emphasizing team play, academic excellence, and commitment to constant improvement, while supplying its young players with the best competition available. Year round leagues, camps and tournaments will give young athletes the chance to develop their skills for the next level, be it elementary school, middle school, high school, or college. The company will seek to gain exposure and recognition for players among college recruiters through a wide variety of avenues. Finally, the JAM mission is to bring together participants from many diverse geographical and cultural backgrounds, providing them with the highest quality competition and learning experiences, as well as giving them a broader perspective on life.

More About J.A.M.

Junior Athletics of the Midwest is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that was founded in the fall of 1993 to provide young basketball players with the opportunity to continue to improve their skills during the off-seasons. The league began in its first season with 90 players aged twelve to eighteen, playing on twelve teams. Over the past thirteen years the league has consistently grown in numbers until today, when over 9,500 players formed over 950 teams during the past year. Providing the community with a complete youth basketball program, JAM offers participants from 2nd grade through high school a positive learning and team experience along with the opportunity to create life-long memories. These experiences provide a source of recreation and simultaneously improve athletic skills, health and fitness as they offer experiences in teamwork, sportsmanship, fair play, cooperation and leadership. Increased self confidence is just one of the many intangible benefits this program offers. JAM continues to be the premier provider of youth basketball experiences, an organiztion whose number one goal is to make this experience affordable and available for all interested participants. JAM now serves more than 10,000 participants annually throughout the Colorado front range.

Junior Athletics of the Midwest provides valuable team and social experience for the increasing population of public, private, and home-schooled youth. As the league has grown in popularity, we have attempted to provide the best possible environment for our players to improve their skills. The top referees in the state are used for all JAM events. The best facilities that the state has to offer have been utilized to create the best possible environment. All participants are outfitted with the best possible equipment that we have been able to find at an affordable price. Additional services, such as the “Dave Hopla Shooting Camp” and “Aubry Bryant Defensive Clinic” have been added to provide our youth with the outstanding instruction from the most highly regarded authorities in the nation. The one thing that has remained constant through our years of facilitating the leagues and camps is the cost to our participants. It costs a player virtually the same amount to participate in a JAM event as it did when we first founded. If you go into any gym to watch a basketball event of any kind you will more than likely see some sort of JAM apparel being proudly worn or carried by our past or current players and participants.

There are absolutely no expectations regarding skill or experience, only the desire to participate. The JAM program is orchestrated to make this experience as accessible and affordable as possible to everyone who would like that opportunity.
